The test equipment is fix mounted in a rugged metal-case and has additional a place for accessories (like AC net-adapter, test adapter for different arrester magazines and holders.

Each GDT in the magazine is tested on both polarities, and the static DC -spark over voltage is compared with the tolerance values acc. to the datasheet.

If a failure is detected, the test is interrupted and displayed as an error.

Because of the integrated serial interface (COM), the test equipment A46 can be connected to a PC and with the software included in the delivery, the test protocol can be stored and printed out.
